Pokémon Horizons : Episodes 41 & 42

And back to Pokemon again, and man this show is already past episode 40 somehow. Really doesn’t feel like it has already been going for that long at all. Still is a very enjoyable show, that has some very solid episodes and character development.

Episode 41 finally lets Dot get some serious development. With the unexpected arrival of her mother wanting to bring her back home. And Dot needing to prove to her mother that she does want to be on this adventure and keep exploring. That this is the best thing that she can do, far better than hiding out in her room back home at least. I do enjoy her character, and I do like this character development. As I feel she hasn’t had very much up to this point at all.

Episode 42 is the unexpected beach episode. But also an episode that shows how this show is already at episode 42. It is fine having filler episodes that don’t add or progress the story at all. And is just a silly episode to take a break before the mid-season episode. And honestly these episodes kinda take me back to a different time in anime, when there were longer running series and more filler like this. It also makes me wonder how long this show will actually run for, if you compare the episodes that are story necessary from the ones that aren’t. Wouldn’t be surprised if this show ends up running for 200 episodes or more to tell the whole story they have planned out.
