And so this show and arc ends with the Japanese government attempting to assassinate Shinichi and doing it poorly. I know the show is a silly parody show, but that just wasn’t a very good plot at all. And just really didn’t fit in with the rest of the show at all. While I technically understand why they would be doing what they did, it just didn’t really work that well. I understand the whole thing was Japan was trying to do a quiet cultural take-over of the country to get better bargaining terms in the future. But this wasn’t a political show, and wasn’t good at politics. So when that got introduced it just didn’t work well at all. Similar with the silly fighting and conflicts at the end, it just didn’t work.

Sadly I don’t think this show ever hit the point of being a really good parody show for me. In the past I’ve watched parodies that go beyond silly, and actually can stand on their own. Have some good plot lines and stories along with characters. This just didn’t do that, it just felt average in the end.
