Galilei Donna : Episode 5

While this episode is pretty damn dark an depressing. It also brings to the front one of the main issues I have with this show. The world building and set-up just doesn’t feel very good at all. Somehow we have a single multi-national corporation who apparently controls basically the entire energy grid of the planet. And runs various pirate groups to destroy their competition in the market. And yet there seems to be no response from governments or protests. Nor any real explanation for how it got to this state.

I just don’t think this aspect works very well. They decided to go too high stakes I feel for what should have been a simple story. A group of girls travel the planet looking for something, while a competing group tries to steal it from them. They didn’t need this dark and depressing overtones and extra world building that isn’t really properly expanded on.
