Well I guess we are about to enter the next arc of the show, or at least the set-up for the next arc. I had a feeling the second half of the show would be darker, and involve more fighting and actual risk. Thus far there hasn’t really been any high stakes or tension really outside of the school. And there was no way it would stay that way for the entire show. With this episode, it looks like that has started to change. Not a clue if Delling will actually die or not, I kinda feel like he will manage to survive this assassination attempt. The president of the most powerful company in existence, with as much power and control and money as him, I can’t see him not having any fail-safes in case of internal strife or survival plans.
But I do figure it will break up the Beneritt Group for sure. And also most likely set off a new war between the various companies within the Beneritt Group, along with the various groups from Earth. That will all provide some much higher stakes that will change up the second season, and also cause interpersonal conflict with Suletta and Miorine and the rest of the group.
Speaking of Suletta. She has had a ton of personal growth kinda off screen during this time skip, and I kinda wish we had seen it happen. She seems to be a much more outgoing person and more open with people around her, and able to communicate much better. Though at the same time Miorine has retracted from the group and Suletta, while she is overworking herself to attempt to get the new company working well. And I can only see it causing trouble and fractures within their new company. I could especially see Suletta just take Aerial and kinda withdraw from the company all together if she gets pushed too much, or if Miorine pulls away from her too much. Despite everything, it really seems like Suletta is mainly there because of Miorine, and without Miorine I don’t know if she really stays around and as involved at all. Miorine might be learning the important lesson to make sure you keep your most important employee happy and content at all times, or you might just loose them.
Final thoughts, the next episode will be significant and involve many different parties it looks like. And possibly different schemes all happening at once. You have Delling meeting with Prospera and discussions something. Meanwhile you have the Grassley company attempting an assassination attempt on Delling, which might end up involving Prospera. You also have Miorine and Suletta who will be showing up to get Aerial. And if Prospera gets involved with the attack, you know Suletta and Aerial will also be involved. And don’t forget that Guel is hanging around on-site at the same time, and who knows how he will react to these events. Possibly the most interesting fact of the next episode is the title, Witches from Earth. Does it have some reference to some of the pilots who have shown up are also using Gundams, it seems possible because of their comments at seeing the Aerial and Suletta video. Their tone and comments seemed like they currently use Gundams as pure weapons to do their jobs. If so we are setting up a very interesting final episode of the season, some Earth Gundams possibly fighting Suletta and Aerial.
