Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury : Episode 7

So this was an interesting episode I guess, we have finally disposed of all the gundam talk finally. Everyone has finally come out and admitted that gundams exist and are better than the current solution, and a solution to the killing of the pilots exist. Now Miorine is going to be working to make sure it stays that way so Suletta and Aerial stay around. I don’t really know how their new group interacts with Prospera and the Shin Sei group though or the Peil group.

I do say probably one of the major developments in the episode is Suletta learning that Aerial is a gundam, and that her mother Prospera has been lying about it for years. And I’m sure this will cause some issues between the two, but I wonder if anything will actually change. Aerial is still the same and nothing changes with it. Their relationship is still the same going forward. The only thing that changed is Suletta learned the Prospera has been lying to keep Suletta and Aerial safe in the past.

But after everything is done, it makes me want to actually know more about the general structure of this world. Because at the moment it feels odd, I want to say it is in a kinda cold war stage but I’m not sure. We have various companies and groups who are working together and fighting against each other to develop better technology and mobile suits. But I don’t actually know who the factions are and who the eventual enemy to use this technology would be. Nor do I know why they would stop gundam development, but also think whoever their enemies are would do the same. It is clear in human history that a development and discovery cannot be covered up, especially if it is a very efficient weapon of war. So even if your group of companies decided to be ethical and not create gundams or place the pilots in harms way, what makes it so your opponent doesn’t just ignore those limitations and continues to develop and build them.
