Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury : Episode 6

So we are continuing the trend of just openly using Gundam and nobody asks anything about it. Because their is no Elan during all that fighting didn’t reveal everything about him and what he was controlling. But also my idea that you just had to push him far enough was kinda true. In the end he is kinda just a failed experiment that you just need to find the weakness in, and you would defeat him quickly. In this case exploit his limited lifespan and how much power he needs to use in order to fully use his Gundam. In the end though, his story was super sad. Looks like he was some poor kid or orphan who was picked up and placed in this position. Still have a ton of questions about why they had to give him Elan’s face though, that is kinda odd.

The fight also showed off that Suletta and Aerial throughout the fights we already had didn’t even bother really using the full power of the machine. Aerial never left essentially first gear while winning all those fights. And when she eventually decided to unlock some power, it just destroyed everything that Elan and Peil Technologies managed to create in a single decisive hit. Kinda terrifying to think this is her finally just kinda releasing some of Aerial’s power, what more could be available in the future.

Something I do wonder about it Sulettas actual history. She is obviously not a normal human, that seems pretty clear. Like she can control and unless the full power of Gundams without having any backlash or repercussions that we’ve seen yet. Her connection with Aerial is also much closer than we saw with Peil Technologies Gundam or anything else. Sure some of it comes down to superior technology I’m sure, but that can’t be all. And that extra related to Suletta is going to be the main thing I’m interested in learning about. Was she modified as a kid, and if so how. And if she was modified, why have they not done it another time? Or is this just a random mutation that allows Suletta to control Gundams freely and they are still trying to recreate it?

Something I’m interested in at this point is how this show will develop in the coming episodes. I feel like they have kinda run the course of these story beats now, and will need to introduce a new plot point. Something to start moving the larger story or characters further along. We know Suletta is a powerful pilot and Aerial is powerful, so what is the actual challenge going to be going forward. Is it going to be Suletta learning about herself and Aerial and just expanding on that? Or are we going to start having more interference from the various companies to try and replicate Suletta and Aerial and the connection between the two, maybe a kidnapping plot? I think I would also be fine with some slice of life stuff with Suletta just getting to know people better, and really fleshing out the side characters to make the memorable.
