Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina : Episode 9

Well this was a dark episode, that also of course brings so many questions into the power of magic and it’s abilities again. But lets just ignore those questions, they are never going to be answered after all.

Instead, lets talk about this being the first time in 9 episodes that the events of the episode had any effect on Elaina. And I honestly don’t feel like these events were necessarily darker or worse than things she has previously seen or been involved in. But this seems like it is the moment they have decided that Elaina should feel something about what happens. The open question is though, will there be any repercussions for this? Will this actually result in some character growth for Elaina? Will she be more or less willing to get involved as she travels going forward, will this give her some kind of PTSD, will it actually matter? That is the big question that I really want to see answered.
