In the time since episode 3 I’ve gone back and reread the currently translated manga. So with that knowledge fresh in my mind. I can say the anime is doing a very good job at pacing and characters. With this episode being a transition episode of getting the next member of the group, and setting up plans on where to go from here.

We also learn about how Lufas is still, as far as we currently know at the moment, the only player in the game. Now what that actually means is largely up in the air and a mystery.
